Nestled in beautiful Rist Canyon, Stove Prairie Elementary has proudly served local families since 1896. As Colorado’s oldest continuously operating mountain school, it offers students a close-knit, supportive learning environment rooted in community, connection, and a love of learning. Generations of families have helped make Stove Prairie a truly special place to learn and grow.

We are a group of parents, teachers, staff, and community members dedicated to supporting our school and enriching the educational experience of every student.
Our mission is to build a strong partnership between families and the school by fostering community, supporting teachers, and funding programs, events, and resources that help our students thrive. From family events and volunteer opportunities to fundraising initiatives that provide classroom support and special experiences, we work together to make a meaningful difference.
Whether you have an hour to volunteer, a special skill to share, or simply want to stay connected, there's a place for you in the PTO. We believe that when families and educators work together, our entire school community grows stronger.

Join us for Stove Prairie Elementary’s annual Fall Festival—a fun-filled community celebration featuring a kid's carnival, a bounce house, live music, delicious food, local vendors, and an exciting silent auction! Come enjoy a beautiful day in Rist Canyon while supporting our students and helping our historic mountain school continue to thrive.
